The Mighty Four Lose their Might

The Dubai Open saw the current World Number 1 Seed, the Scottish Sensation Andy Murray win his first title in the Middle East. While he won, his recent performances in grand slam tournaments haven’t gone all how a world number 1 might plan to. Getting knocked in the starting of the Aussie Open was a major setback but coming back well in Dubai might be a sign of fresh air for Andy however his colleagues have been out of sorts as such.

My favorite and regarded as one of the greatest tennis players who have ever graced the sport, Roger the maestro Federer got stunned in Dubai, when a 116 seeded player named Donskoy, eliminated him and ended the fan favorites run in the Desert. This was Roger’s first match after his triumph in Melbourne and was a huge shock for the GOAT, now he prepares for Indian Wells and Miami, with Paris in mind.

Young Guns Aiming for the Brass Ring

Coming to the former world number 1 and current second seed, the Serbian Novak Djokovic, who went into the Mexican open as a wildcard entry and got knocked out as wildly as ever.  He got knocked out by the Aussie brat as he’s known Nick Kyrgios, who unraveled Novak. These courts are quite pacy and support Kyrgios’s game, keeping up with maintenance and doing tennis court maintenance is no small task, Talbot Tennis is the solution you need. I think mentally Djokovic isn’t where he wants to be but he’s been in an unbelievable run for a few years, now it seems as if he has to pull his socks up if he wants to defend his title at Indian Wells and Miami, and wants to win his second French Title in Paris.

The other person who was on a good come back from injuries other than Roger is his close friends but arch rival on court Rafa Nadal, the Spaniard brute was playing in Acapulco, Mexico and went through all his opponents till the final where he also was stunned by the big American tank, Sam Querrey. And the funny part is he has never lost in Acapulco before so to lose in the final would have hurt him even more.

To sum things up, I think the whole tennis world is in a frenzy and now as time goes on we see new champions other than the usual big 4 of tennis who are showing promise and determination to come up to the top and disturb the elite.  Not to say even Stan the Man Wawrinka lost as well. Now all eyes are on the star studded BNP Paribas Open being played in Indian Wells, will we see another upset? Or will the top 4 regain their place, only time will tell.
